🔥 Who the Get Hired Job Fair Is Built For
The Workforce Centers describe Get Hired as their annual event connecting South Central Kansas employers with veterans, active-duty service members, Guard and Reserve members, and their spouses. That's a big audience in a city that is home to McConnell Air Force Base and a deep bench of aviation and manufacturing employers who value military experience.
The early window is the practical payoff. From 10:00 to 10:30 a.m., military-connected job seekers get first crack at recruiters before the room fills. If that's you, arrive at 10 sharp.
Not a veteran? You're still welcome. The general public gets in at 10:30, with two and a half hours to work the tables.
⚠️ Read This Before You Go
As of this writing, the Workforce Centers have not published the 2026 employer list, so nobody can tell you yet which companies will be in the room or how many openings they're bringing. Treat it as a chance to meet recruiters face to face, not a promise of a specific job. Check the Workforce Centers job fair page again in early November for the lineup, and call (316) 771-6800 if you need an accommodation.
The organizer hasn't posted admission or preregistration details for 2026 either, so confirm both on the event page before you head out.
One more thing: mind the venue. The 2024 edition ran downtown at the Advanced Learning Library on West Second Street. This year's fair is at the Extension center, a 41,000-square-foot county building on 12 acres at the corner of 21st and Ridge in west Wichita. Don't go downtown.
📋 How to Show Up Ready
- Bring a stack of resumes. Plan for more tables than you expect.
- Translate your service. Recruiters respond to job titles and results, not unit acronyms.
- Know your clearance status if you hold one, and say so early.
- Dress one step above the job you want and have a short pitch ready.
- Want something sooner? The KANSASWORKS virtual job fair, Oct. 23–25, lets you interview from home. Different event, different format, no drive required.
